Sorry for the spam attack, dear readers. I wasn't watching new postings closely - oops. I'll try to do better.

Wow, the spammers, or perhaps their bots, are quite persistent. Daily I've had a bunch of spams to wipe out. Posts from new members and guests now need moderator approval before they appear, which so far is preventing the previous spam flood. I'll see if the IP bans I just entered will help.

A month later and finally the spam flood has slowed, requiring only a few deletes every few days. Aye caramba!

In the ongoing quest to reduce spam, I've changed the captcha routines. Hopefully this dissuades a few more spambots.

Wow, the new captcha is working wonders. There has been no spam since! I wonder if it has prevented any legitimate posts though. We'll see...
